Overview
This 4-day adventure takes you from the golden dunes of the Zagora Desert to the rugged peaks of the High Atlas Mountains, culminating in an exhilarating ascent of Mount Toubkal (4167m). Along the way, you’ll discover Berber villages, ancient kasbahs, dramatic gorges, and stunning landscapes.
Itinerary:
Day 1: Marrakech – Aït Benhaddou – Zagora (Camel Trek & Desert Camp)
Day 2: Zagora – Draa Valley – Ouarzazate – Imlil (1740m)
Day 3: Imlil – Sidi Chamharouch – Toubkal Refuge (3200m)
Day 4: Toubkal Refuge – Toubkal Summit (4167m) – Imlil – Return to Marrakech
Day 1: Marrakech – Aït Benhaddou – Zagora (Camel Trek & Desert Camp)
Departing from Marrakech at 8 AM, we journey through the High Atlas Mountains, crossing the scenic Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2260m). Our first stop is the UNESCO-listed Aït Benhaddou, an ancient fortified village famous for its Kasbahs and Hollywood film appearances.
After lunch in Ouarzazate, we continue through the Draa Valley, known for its endless palm groves and traditional mud-brick villages. Upon arrival in Zagora, we meet our camels for a sunset trek across the dunes, leading us to a desert camp.
Spend the night in a nomadic-style tent, enjoying a traditional Moroccan dinner under the star-filled sky while listening to Berber music around the campfire.

Day 2: Zagora – Draa Valley – Ouarzazate – Imlil (1740m)
Wake up early to watch the sunrise over the desert dunes. After breakfast, we ride camels back to the meeting point and begin our return journey via the Draa Valley, stopping at Ouarzazate for lunch.
In the afternoon, we drive back through the High Atlas Mountains to reach Imlil, a beautiful Berber village nestled in the heart of the mountains. Here, we prepare for the upcoming trek. Enjoy a relaxing evening with a home-cooked Berber dinner at a traditional guesthouse.
Day 3: Imlil – Sidi Chamharouch – Toubkal Refuge (3200m)
After breakfast, we begin our Toubkal ascent, trekking through Berber villages and stopping at the sacred shrine of Sidi Chamharouch (2500m). A picnic lunch will be served along the way before we continue our climb towards the Toubkal Refuge (3200m).
Upon arrival, you can freshen up with a hot shower before enjoying a hearty Moroccan dinner. Overnight stay at the refuge (or camping in summer months).
Day 4: Toubkal Refuge – Toubkal Summit (4167m) – Imlil – Return to Marrakech
We wake up early to start the final ascent to Mount Toubkal, North Africa’s highest peak. After 3-4 hours of climbing, we reach the summit, where you can enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the Atlas Mountains, valleys, and beyond.
After celebrating the achievement, we descend back to the refuge for lunch and continue trekking down to Imlil, where you meet the driver to drive you back to Marrakech.
