Along the way, you will meet local Berber people, explore traditional villages, and enjoy stunning landscapes.

Itinerary:

Day 1: Marrakech – Merzouga Erg Chebbi

Your adventure begins with an early morning departure from Marrakech at 8 AM. We will travel through the High Atlas Mountains via the scenic Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2260m), passing Berber villages and breathtaking landscapes. We will stop in Aït Benhaddou, a UNESCO-listed Kasbah, for a visit and lunch. Continuing through Ouarzazate and the Valley of Roses, we arrive in Merzouga in the late afternoon.

Upon arrival, you will ride camels through the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi to reach a desert camp. Here, you will enjoy a traditional Moroccan dinner under the stars while listening to Berber music around the campfire.

Day 2: Merzouga – Todra Gorge – Dades Valley

Wake up early to witness the sunrise over the dunes. After breakfast, we will ride camels back to the lodge and start our journey towards Todra Gorge, famous for its towering canyon walls and lush palm groves.

After some time exploring the gorge, we will continue to Dades Valley, passing through the stunning landscapes of the “Valley of a Thousand Kasbahs.” Along the way, you’ll see breathtaking rock formations and ancient Berber villages. Overnight stay in a comfortable guesthouse in Dades Gorge.

Day 3: Dades Gorge – Aït Benhaddou – Imlil (1740m)

After breakfast, we will drive back through the High Atlas Mountains, stopping for lunch along the way. We will pass through Ouarzazate and cross Tizi n’Tichka Pass once again before reaching Imlil, a picturesque Berber village nestled in the heart of the Atlas Mountains.

Upon arrival in Imlil, we will prepare for the upcoming trek. Enjoy a relaxing evening with a home-cooked dinner in a cozy guesthouse.

Day 4: Imlil – Sidi Chamharouch – Toubkal Refuge (3200m)

After breakfast, we will begin our trek towards Toubkal Refuge. Accompanied by an experienced mountain guide and a muleteer crew, we will hike through Berber villages and pass by the sacred shrine of Sidi Chamharouch (2500m).

We will stop for a picnic lunch before continuing the ascent to the refuge at 3200m. Upon arrival, you can freshen up with a hot shower before enjoying a hearty Moroccan dinner. Overnight stay at the refuge (or camping in summer months).

Day 5: Toubkal Refuge – Toubkal Summit (4167m) – Return to Imlil – Marrakech

We will wake up early for an alpine-style ascent to the Toubkal Summit (4167m), the highest peak in North Africa. The climb takes around 3-4 hours, and upon reaching the summit, you will be rewarded with panoramic views of the surrounding valleys and mountains.

After celebrating your achievement and taking in the breathtaking scenery, we will descend back to the refuge for lunch. From there, we will trek down to Imlil, where our driver will be waiting to take us back to Marrakech, arriving in the evening around 8 PM.
